Alcohol

Children and teenagers under 16 are not allowed to consume alcohol. Teenagers under 18 are not allowed to consume liquors or drinks with liquors (mixed drinks). If there is any doubt about the age of a person the staff will ask for their ID.

Alcohol Prevention

«Happylicious»-Lounge – by Perspektive Thurgau

Refreshing water straight from the fountain, a crisp apple from Thurgau and “handy” tips regarding alcohol and sex – this and more is available at the “Happylicious”-Lounge right next to the South Stage. When you drink you become more reckless and you could make decision you’ll regret later. During the festival you should drink a sufficient amount of non-alcoholic drinks and eat enough! This helps staying fit and clear in the head. A sensible atmosphere and comfortable Air Lounges invite you to sit and relax.

Look after yourself, stay fit and safe.

Animals

Music festivals are torture for animals. Therefore: please leave your beloved pets at home. We also cannot allow animals for hygienic reasons. Thank you for your understanding.

Arrive by Car

Visitors will find the parking areas after the exit “Frauenfeld West” on the A7 Autobahn. If you have a VIP ticket, use the exit “Frauenfeld Ost” to get to the VIP parking.

Arrive by Train

We and our logistics partner SBB offer a relaxed alternative to a car journey. More information and schedules can be found here! (as soon as they’re available)

Box Office

Depending on the demand there will be tickets available at the box office. The following additional costs apply:

Bracelets

The tickets have to be replaced with a festival bracelet at the entrance. The bracelet has to be worn tightly around the wrist. Lost, broken or opened bracelets are not valid anymore. It also doubles as a proof of age. It will only be given to you if you have a valid identity document (e.g. ID) with you!

Buildings

For security reasons, buildings of any sort are not allowed on the camping grounds.

Cash

We have two cash corners on location – one in the entrance area, the other on the festival grounds.

If you arrive with Euros, you can exchange them to CHF in the cash corners.

Camping

Camping in tents is not only allowed, but also desired. The camping grounds (A-C and VIP camping) are right next to the festival grounds. They are officially open from Thursday 8 am to Sunday 4 pm. Exceptions:  refer to “early admission to the camping grounds”

Camping on camping ground B is free respectively included in the tickets. We offer a camping upgrade on camping grounds A & C. You can find more details about this in the “Tickets” menu.

You’ll also have to put in a deposit of CHF 20.- for every tent you bring. If you take your tent back home with you at the end of the festival, you’ll get your money back. More information in the “tent deposit” menu.

Couches and other bulky items are not allowed on the grounds. More information in the “Prohibited“ menu.

Restrictions on beverages

If you want to take your own beverages on the camping grounds, you’ll be allowed to take 3 litres of drinks once. Aluminium cans are allowed, glass bottles are prohibited. You’re allowed to take one 0.5l PET bottle per person with you on the festival grounds.

There’s a Migros store in the village between the camping grounds A, B and C, where you can buy food and non-foods, as well as cold drinks. There is also free drinking water on the grounds (refer to drinking water supply).

The security on the camping grounds will allocate you to a place where you can pitch your tent.

Charging

Empty battery? Then charge your phone at the MTV mobile booth! And that’s free – no matter if you give your phone to Doc Mobile or charge it at one of the charging-tables.

Conservation

The festival grounds are located close to a nature reserve. We have developed extensive measures to protect this area with the responsible committee. We ask our visitors to respect and abide to them.

Credit Cards

We do not accept credit cards, but you can take out money with them at the cash corner.

Deposit (Drinks)

You’ll have to pay a deposit of CHF 2.- for every drink you buy. You’ll get it back at every bar and refreshment stands.

Disability Accessibility

The festival and the camping grounds are both wheelchair accessible, except for the premium area, which is only partially accessible. There are disabled toilets and thanks to the Cerebral foundation there is also a wheelchair accessible platform from which you can view the stage. You can take one accompanying person with you to these areas.

Please consider that the Openair Frauenfeld is held on an open area. Depending on the weather manoeuvring a wheelchair can be hard. We will do our best to keep as many paths as possible wheelchair accessible.

Drinking Water Supply

The drinking water supplies are identified on the camping grounds and the festival grounds.

Drugs

Drugs are prohibited inside the festival grounds (just like everywhere else in Switzerland). The addiction care is on site to help you with questions about alcohol and drugs.

Early Admission to the Camping Grounds

Owners of a Special Ticket or a VIP Ticket are allowed to enter the camping grounds one day earlier, on Wednesday, the 4th of July 2018. The following admission times apply:

Fire Places

There are designated fire places on the camping grounds. Some of them are not allowed.

First Aid

Intermedic and an experienced team of doctors offer first aid at all times. The four first aid centres are located on the left side of the main stage (South Stage), to the left of the North Stage, next to the entrance to the festival grounds on camping ground A and next to the Migros store on camping ground B.

Food & Beverages

The time of carrying food around with you is over. You can buy food, non-food and cold drinks in the MIGROS store in the village (between camping grounds A, B and C).

We also offer a diverse range of foods with our partners from the “Food & Beverage” -sector:

No matter if you want “traditional” Swiss food, Asian, Mexican, Italian or vegetarian food – there’s no lack of it. And all of that for a fair price.

Restrictions on beverages: If you want to take your own beverages on the camping grounds, you’ll be allowed to take 3 litres of drinks once. Aluminium cans are allowed, glass bottles are prohibited. You’re allowed to take one 0.5l PET bottle per person with you on the festival grounds.

Barbecue

Small disposable barbecues are allowed on the camping grounds. Gas and camping stoves are prohibited.

Taking gas cartridges of any size is not allowed. They will be thrown away at the entrance.

Hearing Protection

Quit music is not enjoyable. But neither is music that’s too loud. We abide by the existing rules regarding the maximum volume. If that’s still too loud for you, you can and should protect yourself. We will hand out free ear plugs. Where? At the info point, at the pit, exposed bars, etc. Additionally the SUN PRODUCTIONS/Young Swiss Promo-team is in the audience during the concerts.

Info Point

Our staff is available for any questions or concerns of any kind. The info points are located at the main entrance and at the bracelet controls for the festival grounds.

LaFabrik Stage

Admission to the La Fabrik Stage and the 12 concerts on it is allowed from the ages 18 and up, because of the local youth protection laws (tobacco law).

Lost & Found

Found something? Lost something? No problem! The festival Lost & Found is next to the info point between the festival grounds and camping ground A (at the bracelet control point). Migros Store

There’s a Migros store in the village between the camping grounds A, B and C, where you can buy food and non-foods, as well as cold drinks.

The VIP entrance is closed between 1 and 8 am. During that time owners of VIP and staff tickets have to exchange their bracelets at the main entrance. Please consider that.

Parking

The parking spaces are located next to the festival grounds. There are signs leading to the parking spaces starting at the A7 exit Frauenfeld-West. The parking spaces open Wednesdays at 2 pm, which is also when the shuttle busses start driving. The shuttle busses stop Sundays around 4 pm.

You’ll have to pay a parking fee for the usage, organisation and availability of the parking spaces. The following fees apply:

Owners of a VIP Ticket should use the exit Frauenfeld-Ost. Please have your VIP ticket ready. VIP parking is included in the VIP ticket.

Photo/Video

Professional photography and video recordings are just allowed on the camping grounds. Small digital cameras and smartphones can be used on the festival grounds, though.

Prohibited

Taking Couches, wooden constructions of any kind, straw, fridges and fireworks is prohibited.  The creation of fire places and taking grills of any kind (exception: disposable grills) is prohibited. Taking selfie sticks on the festival grounds is also not allowed. They can be used on the camping grounds, though.

Showers

There’s a central shower station on camping ground B.

Shuttle Bus

A free shuttle bus will drive from the train station Frauenfeld to the festival grounds, starting Wednesday at 2pm until Sunday ca. 4 pm.

Swimming

About 1.000 meters behind the camping are you’ll find the idyllic River Thur. Here you can relax and go swimming.

Taking Beverages (3-Litres Rule)

If you want to take your own beverages on the camping grounds, you’ll be allowed to take 3 litres of drinks once. Aluminium cans are allowed, glass bottles are prohibited. You’re allowed to take one 0.5l PET bottle per person with you on the festival grounds.

There’s 6-packs of canned beer available for a fair price in the Beer-Shop.

There’s a strict prohibition of glass on the entire Openair grounds. Aluminium cans are just allowed on the camping grounds. Party barrels are not allowed.

Tent Deposit

We support the international campaign LOVE YOUR TENT and promote the reduction of trash on festival grounds. Therefore we implemented an easy tent deposit system, for any kind of tent. It doesn’t matter if you brought a pavilion, an igloo tent, a military tent or something else – you’ll need to pay a deposit of 20 CHF.- for every tent. If you take your tent back home at the end, you’ll get your money back. The tent deposit vouchers are available here!

Tickets

Admission is from the age of 16 and up. Teenagers under 16 years of age need to show a written permission from their parents. You can download the form here.

The ticket/festival bracelet is not a valid train ticket. To get a reduced train ticket, you need to buy a return ticket in advance. There will be ticket controls in the trains.

We strongly advise you to buy your tickets at the official booking agencies only.

Trash

A lot of people mean a lot of trash. We’d like to ask for your support, not only for your own comfort but also for the environment. There are designated “Trash-islands” (including separate containers for PET and ALU) on the entire festival grounds. These are a big help for our cleaning crew, which is working night and day.

We implemented a tent deposit to reduce the amount of trash even more. This means you’ll have to pay CHF 20.- for every tent you bring with you. If you take your tent back home at the end of the festival, you’ll get your money back.
